Dear Jack, Francis, and Co.

Having survived the ordeal of designing and building a house, we want to express our satisfaction with the product, and our thanks to all hands associated with K & P Contracting (including Heat Seal Ltd.)

The house meets or exceed our expectations in most ways. The quality of construction is especially evident when the weather is at its worst, which God knows we have experienced this winter. The lack of drama in the structure (noise, rattle and vibration) during hurricane force winds is testament to the structural "extras" and attention to detail provided by an obviously experienced contractor. This is especially impressive when one considers that this was achieved in a custom design, where technical knowledge, thoughtfulness and constant attention to details could mean the difference between huge problems and sound construction. In that context, it would not be surprising to have minor bugs. However, they were few, far between, and most importantly, dealt with promptly.

The world is full of stories about contractors infuriating homeowners with both shabby construction and unresolved problems. We consider ourselves fortunate not to have experienced either. Neither was there any of the dreaded "nickle and diming" to waste our time and energy. Many thanks to: Jack for his patience in sorting through the ever-changing design thoughts, Francis for his wise counsel, John for his foreseeing, avoiding and dealing with every conceivable problem, Kim for being the ever-efficient and pleasant business manager, Robert and Aiden for the pride and care taken in the finished carpentry (exceptional work on the pine ceiling, trims and rails), and Steve and Frankie for the prompt fixes and modifications.

Good quality may cost a little more, but it pays substantial dividends. If we're ever foolish enough to build another house, we would not hesitate to select K & P as our contractor.
