Dear Francis:

This is just a brief letter to let you know how pleased we are with our new Eurohab home. As you know we moved into the house last September and immediately the house was introduced to the Newfoundland climate, more exactly to the wind and seaspray off the Atlantic Ocean. Despite the fact that we are so exposed to the elements, perched on a cliffside facing Conception Bay, the house is draft free, warm and comfortable, even in sub-zero gale force winds. This is to the credit of the tight construction in the architecture and workmanship of your firm. We have also found that the INTERHAB design is most effective in circulating the heat within the house and we have experienced no dampness in spite of the level of insulation and sealing used in the walls.

We have found the solarium to be a valuable asset much to our delight. The spaciousness of the room accommodates large plants while still allowing it to be an extremely versatile room. It is ideally situated off the dining area and is often used for informal small evening meals with guests. In the middle of winter this room provides an excellent source of daytime light and warmth which flows into the kitchen as well as upstairs into the bedrooms. With the warm weather approaching we are just beginning to appreciate having the deck right off the solarium. We are indeed looking forward to evening barbecues, and early morning breakfasts outdoors.

We are surprised at how aesthetically pleasing and inviting the living room is. In particular the use of pine in the ceiling adds an elegant touch to the home. The pine ceilings have been admired and we recognize how rare it is to have the solid 12 inch and 8 inch beams as supports. We have found the INTERHAB approach which relies on beam and plank construction to be economical and structurally sound.

Finally Frances we have personally found it a pleasure to utilize your construction firm. You are obviously very familiar with the INTERHAB concept and understand its potential in this province. Moreover, the contract was completed on time and with the highest quality and care. Your workmen are to be commended for their personal attention and patience as we made many last minute alterations. We would not hesitate to recommend your firm and the INTERHAB designs. This is truly a beautiful home in all aspects, the feature of which are further enhanced by the care you placed in its solid construction. Should you wish to send potential homebuilders to visit the house to see firsthand, the design and workmanship, we would be happy to accommodate them. All the best in the coming year.
