The Builder of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding contribution in the residential construction industry to the advancement of construction of high quality new housing. This award is presented to an active builder member who has shown outstanding leadership in new home design and construction, and who has promoted the Newfoundland and Labrador Home Builders Association in its marketing efforts.

K & P has also been honored with the CHBA-EN Renovator of the Year Award in 2000,2003, 2006 and 2007.
This award recognizes companies who demonstrate exemplary customer service (this
is shown through customer testimonials to accompany the submission),
professionalism, construction technology to incorporate features to make the
project more energy efficient in keeping with today's guidelines, design
features which modernize the home without losing the appeal of the original
structure. As the homeowner stated, "Restoring the old and blending in the new

The Enviro-House

K&P Contracting built the First Enviro-Home in Newfoundland
and Labrador, in 1996. This home was built for the Eastern Newfoundland Home
Builders Association, in cooperation with Newfoundland Power. This 1,780 sq. ft
home served as a show case for R-2000 and SMART technology. The Enviro home was
termed as the Newfoundland Advanced Home. EnviroHome projects showcase the best in new home advanced building technology and products, EnviroHome builders are amoung the "best of the best" - highly innovative, skilled professionals who know how to construct exceptional homes that meet the needs of today's consumers for high quality, healthy homes that are also affordable. The EnviroHome Initiative was established in 1994 by the Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) and TD Canada Trust to recognize and support innovative new home builders who were committed to offering consumers homes that are "better for you, better for your community and better for the environment". The EnviroHome projects and EnviroHome builders presented on the EnviroHome site have met that high standard. |
